2010 Feng Shui Geomancy Forecast

Feng Shui (aka Geomancy) is an ancient Chinese system of aesthetics believed to use the laws of both Heaven (astronomy) and Earth (geography) to help one improve life by receiving positive qi (energy flow). The term feng shui literally translates as “wind-water” in English. Traditional feng shui practice always requires an extremely accurate Chinese compass, or luo pan, in order to determine the directions in finding any auspicious sector in a desired location.

There is an old Chinese saying that Feng Shui will always change, thus the fortune of the various North-South-East-West directions will be different every year. Therefore it will be useful to find out what we can expect in 2010, which is the year of the Tiger zodiac sign. We will discuss the various positions and their potential effect on your home, work or office space, and business space. But do note that the exact forecast will differ depending on each individual’s characteristics and further professional advice should be sought if you need to dwell into further details.

East Direction for Feng Shui

Due to the alignment of stars, the East direction is considered one of the best position in 2010. It is suggested that you should sit or sleep in this position more frequently to help enhance your competitiveness and money luck. Blue, grey and black are good colours for accessories that will help enhances your luck and avoid danger in this particular direction. Should your main entrance be in the East, you can use either of these 3 colours as the carpet for the entrance.

South-East Direction for Feng Shui

This direction has the potential to easily provoke arguments. The lighting in this position should not be too dark nor too bright, else any small monetary gains will be lost easily. If this position is the entrance or window, it may invite villians that could cause you financial problems. To avoid problems if you are situated in this position, you should place suitable Feng Shui ornaments that matches your characteristics to deflect negative energy.

South Direction for Feng Shui

This is one of the worst position in 2010 which easily attract arguments, fights and injuries, and law suits. You should avoid sitting in this position if possible. It will be useful if this direction is sufficiently well-lit at all times. If it is relatively dark, it is proposed that you hang a wooden Feng Shui sword here to ward off evil or to place a lamp here. Brown and yellow coloured accessories will be helpful to reduce the negativity of this position.

South-West Direction for Feng Shui

The alignment of stars foretell that the South-West direction will be the most unlucky position in 2010. To ward off evil, it is recommended that you fill about one-third of a glass or porcelain bottle with coarse salt. On top of the salt, you should place a coin with dragon designs surrounded by six real ancient Qian Long era’s coins, before filling the bottle with plain water and sealing the bottle. This bottle is to be placed in the position to dispel the negative energy. A bronze painting will help to enhance the positive energy here. To protect yourself, avoid sitting or sleepin in this location. White coloured accessories will be helpful to reduce the negativity of this position.

West Direction for Feng Shui

West is one of the luckiest spot in 2010. Sitting or sleeping in this position will help to enhance your luck and fortune this year. However you should avoid indulging in alcohol and lusty encounters. Green coloured accessories will be helpful to reduce the negativity of this position.

North-West Direction for Feng Shui

This is a position that will see mixed fortunes in 2010. Do take extra precautions to look out for the well-being of old folks around. Winnings from speculative investments or gambling maybe easily lost. The direction is also detrimental to the eldest son in a family as it may affect the son’s heart and lung health. Brown and yellow coloured accessories will be helpful to reduce the negativity of this position.

North Direction for Feng Shui

The stars alignment suggest mixed fortunes for this position and is generally better to avoid the position. However people who are working as administrators or teachers, or if the position is used as a study, the position is actually helpful. Red, purple and orange coloured accessories will be helpful to reduce the negativity of this position.

North-East Direction for Feng Shui

This is generally a position that will be unlucky for most people and should be avoided. If the main entrance of your home is in this direction, you will need to pay more attention to the elderly folks and young children in the family as their health may be affected. White coloured accessories will be helpful to reduce the negativity of this position.

Mid-Point / Centre Position for Feng Shui

To fully capitalise on the lucky stars which are shining on all monetary aspects, it will be useful to place lucky charms such as the golden toad, pi xiu, etc. to enhance your financial fortune.
