Advertlets Payment Made in 24 Hours! Advertlets is Not a Scam for Wayang Times!
In my previous post, I wondered if Advertlets is a scam advertising network as some anecdotal evidences suggested that they are not paying blog publishers. Fortunately, my concerns were quickly addressed in the last 24 hours by the Advertlets support team. So I suppose I can start loving Advertlets now.
With regards to my earlier concerns, these are the outcome:
1. Advertlets has paid!
My first cashout meant to be due in October 2009 has been wired to a designated bank account within a few hours after I furnished my account details this morning.
2. Advertlets has credited for sponsored post!
The sponsored post for one of Advertlet’s advertisers: Straits Times’ ST701 Property has been credited to my Advertlets account. A little suggestion to Advertlets is to improve its online interface as I can’t tell the exact amount that was credited for the sponsored post and need abit of accounting skills to figure it out.
3. Advertlets’ customer service support is very responsive!
Other than the comments left on my blog post complaining about Advertlets, Advertlets support team also sent me a few emails to confirm the payment.
Conclusion for Advertlets (for now)
At the point of writing this post, I would recommend the following:
- Publishers: You can make references to Wayang Times‘ experiences and consider if Advertlets can work for your blog or website. The main reason I signed-up for Advertlets in the first place was because it helps to monetize my Malaysia and Singapore traffic on a CPM-basis and the revenue potential is quite reasonable, with opportunities for sponsored posts as well. So I will continue with them. However, there are also other options such as Chitika, Clickbank, , and Adbrite which you can always consider.
- Advertisers: It appears that Advertlets demonstrated that they can be relied on to make prompt payments to the publishers, when they are prodded. Though they probably could still improve their accounts payable tracking processes and procedures. However it is undisputable that they are one of the largest advertising network in Malaysia and Singapore. With their significant reach, working with Advertlets will still be beneficial to advertisers. But it will be much appreciated if advertisers can do their part to emphasis to Advertlets that blogs/websites publishers play an important role in delivering the advertisers’ advertisements, and should thus be kept happy with prompt and reliable payments.
In fact, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the ST701 team for dropping me an email to express SPH’s concerns about this issue. They had also promised to check out the other blogs with ST701 sponsored posts to see if they have faced similar problems.

Occasionally we do send out some cheques via post that do not reach their destination successfully. Hence, we are now allowing for direct bank in payments to your account, where we cover the transaction fees.

I am glad to hear that adverlets is still paying. I did, at a point, though they were a scam until i see you post. I have emailed to them and see what they say. Finally, i can use adverlets again!
