Pretty China Chengdu Wish Girl Seeks BF Attract Thousands – Zhang Mengqian

A pretty Chinese college girl, Zhang Mengqian, studying in China had recently left a message on her university’s “wish wall” which attracted thousands of guys to loiter around her hostel. The message, which included her pictures, said that she was looking for a boyfriend.

Zhang Mengqian is currently studying at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China in Chengdu, a Sichuan province in Southwest China. Interestingly, the university designated 7th and 8th March every year as Girl’s Day for all the university’s female students.

This year, the university gave each of their female student a blank wishing card, encouraging them to pen their wishes on the cards and pin them onto a designated “wishing wall” in the university premises.

A message left by a cute freshman female student caught the attention of thousands of students in the Chengdu university. Her message goes, “My name is Zhang Mengqian, a grade one student in the university. I believe that I am quite attractive, but I am frustrated that I have not been able to find a boyfriend. But I believe in destiny and fate. If you would like to get to know me, wait for me outside my dormitory at hall building #5 on 11th March 2010 between 12:30pm to 12:50pm and shout my name. I will observe you secretly in the building. If you are my type, I will come down to meet you.”

This special wish soon became the most discussed message among many students in the university. By noon of 11th March, thousands of students have gathered around the alleged female student’s dormitory building.

Even guys from neighboring colleges and universities came to the Chengdu university in groups, hoping to catch a glimpse of the “wish girl”, Zhang Mengqian.

Despite the huge crowd of guys, only a few mustered sufficient courage to shout out the name of the “wish girl” in front of thousands. Alas, no girl by the name of “Zhang Menqian” ever appeared that afternoon.

The news generated much discussions on China’s internet forums as netizens debated whether “Zhang Menqian” exists or if it is all just a hoax.
