The Jack Neo affair fiasco has been dragging on for slightly than a week but it already felt like months. Perhaps it is about time to put things aside for Jack Neo and his family since Jack Neo’s press conference and apology.
But many people think that Jack Neo (50 year old) do not deserve any support from the public because of his highly questionable and immoral indiscretions, despite his public apologies. He is nicknamed a lustful old man and “Jerk Neo” by many netizens, after allegations of Jack Neo’s attempts to bed girls as young as 16 year old came to light. However, many of us sympathise with his wife Irene Kng and his 4 children and appeal for the public to support his family.
With all these in mind, many people would probably agree that Jack Neo’s family need the public’s support and understanding. But he probably don’t deserve the same support for himself. And the main reasons are:
1. Jack Neo’s alleged targets are just too young, including a 16 year old.
2. Jack Neo was projected by the media as unrepentant with a string of alleged conquests and attempted conquests, until the exposure by Wendy Chong. He only said sorry after the exposure, because he was caught by the media now.
3. Support his family. His actual victims and the victims’ families would probably need some support too. But why do we need to support him?
