Newlywed groom vernon leong fall to death from Hilton Hotel 24th floor 01

On 4 Nov 2009, Mr Vernon Leong, 31, the bridegroom fell down from the Singapore’s Orchard Road Hilton Hotel during the wee hours after his wedding dinner at the same venue. The media has reported that he was caught on 3 of Hilton’s CCTV surveillance cameras moments before the fall.

The CCTV footages showed that at about 3.00 am, a barefooted Vernon Leong wearing a T-shirt and shorts going towards the fire escape staircase on the 10th floor which is on the same floor his wedding bridal suite. Soon after, the footages showed that Vernon Leong was in a rush and scrambled at the 2nd floor of Hilton about 8 minutes later. At around 3.16 am, the 3rd time he was seen on CCTV was when Vernon Leong’s body was slumped on the driveway. He was declared dead by the time paramedics arrived.

Police investigations revealed that the door of the fire escape exit on the 5th floor was opened and they have not ruled out the possibility of Vernon Leong reaching the 2nd floor via this way.

The CCTV footages also proved that he never went to the roof-top garden on the 24th floor.

Authorities are still unsure as to which floor the bridegroom fell from and mystery surrounds the circumstances of his death.

According to Shin Min Daily, the body was found facing upwards.

The Police are not sure which floor Vernon Leong fell from and have classified the case as unnatural death.
