On the night of 15 Dec 2009 when the Romanian Diplomat Silviu Ionescu was involved in hit and run accident in Singapore, Dr Silviu Ionescu had the company of a pretty Korean opera singer and voice teacher Ms Jeong Ae Ree. On the evening of 14 Dec 2009, Jeong Ae Ree had accompanied Dr Silviu to a few places, one of which is the Legend Palace KTV Night Club. Dr Silviu had went to the night club on Ms Kanda Loh Kailing’s invitation as she was celebrating her birthday that night at her workplace.

According to the Straits Times – the KTV mommy Kanda Loh said in court that she was not aware if the former Romanian drank alcohol at her party the night of the accident.
Asking a KTV mommy in court if a client had drank alcohol at her lounge is like asking a loanshark if he is making illegal loans to the poor and unwary. The job of a KTV mommy is to push alcohol and girls at her workplace. The KTV mommy has a target of getting her girls to get the clients to consume 1 bottle of brandy or whisky every hour – or the girls will be fired!
