Lim Kok Thay, Chairman of Genting Group, clarified yesterday that the opening date of the Universal Studios Theme Park at the Resorts Word Sentosa has not been confirmed. Despite this, many Singaporeans were still excited about the opening and started turning up at resort on the day of its official opening yesterday on 20 January 2010.
The Resort World Sentosa chose an auspicious time, presumably after consulting feng shui masters, and launched at precisely 08.18am on 20 January. The staff at the 4 hotels, Crockfords Tower, Hotel Michael, Hard Rock Hotel and Festive Hotel counted down to the opening time and opened their doors symbolically at the same time. 10 of the restaurants and lounges, and 5 retail shops also opened their doors for their first guests on Wednesday.
The rates starts from S$200 for Festive Hotel, $225 for Hard Rock Hotel and $250 for Hotel Michael. Crockfords Tower is only available for free, if you are an invited member of the resort.

seriously it will be really bad news if they can’t get the license. but i believe they should be able to pass the inspections. after these people r pretty pro and r probably very hungry to ensure that they earn their billion dollars here.
“818″ symbolizes “Fa Yi Fa”, most uncles and aunties could figure that out without the help of a Feng Shui master ;P
