Resorts World Sentosa IR Will Open on 20 January 2010 in Singapore

Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) will be the first Integrated Resort (IR) to open in Singapore as they announced in their latest press release that they will be opened on 20 January 2010 (Wednesday). As part of their promised phased opening, the Resorts World Sentosa will open its doors beginning with four of their hotels.

The Resorts World Sentosa’s four hotels which will open first are Festive Hotel, Hard Rock Hotel Singapore, Crockfords Tower and Hotel Michael. There will also be 1,350 rooms and 10 restaurant outlets availabe on their opening.

Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay, the Chairman of Genting Group and Resorts World Sentosa told the media that when the Genting Group won the bid to build Resorts World Sentosa in December 2006, they had promised Singapore that they will deliver a true IR that will make Singapore and Singaporeans proud. He claimed that they have been single-minded about their aim and did not have have to deal with any distractions or make any excuses, in a not so subtle reference to Marina Bay Sands delayed opening.

Tan Hee Teck, the CEO of Resorts World Sentosa explained that their phased opening schedule will allow the resort and its 10,000 employees to run in operations and deliver the expected guest experience. He also thanked the team of agencies and government officials who have been working tirelessly to help Resorts World Sentosa get where they are today. He is also grateful of the help from the top-class team of staffers, architects, consultants and contractors who pushed relentlessly to help Resorts World Sentosa open ahead of schedule.
