Romanian Diplomat Silviu Ionescu was the Driver in Hit and Run Accident in Singapore

The Senior State Counsel, Lau Wing Yum, had informed the media that Dr Silviu Ionescu has been confirmed to be the driver of the Audi car during the hit and run accident.

Police investigations indicated that the driver was Dr Ionescu, and the car was not stolen as initially claimed. The official inquiry into the death of Tong Kok Wai, a Singapore permanent resident from Malaysia, is expected to be held from 3 to 10 March 2010.
