The 21 years old Dou Hua Mei, aka Xiao Ru, is the new challenger to Taiwan’s Yao Yao. And this can only be good news for the guys as it means another sweet girl candy. While Dou Hua Mei’s 32C pales in comparison to Yao Yao’s 32F, she more than make it up with her pretty looks.
Dou Hua Mei (豆花妹), which is literally translated as beancurd sister is the nickname for Xia Ru (小汝), whose full name is Cai Huang Ru / Cai Yi Jie (蔡黄汝 / 蔡依洁). This pretty Taiwan girl was discovered in a Jacky Wu’s TV show as she was well-known previously as the unofficial spokesperson of a popular beancurd store. Many Taiwanese travel hours to find the store so as to buy beancurd from this lovely lady.

Recently in an online idol voting competition among Taiwanese students, Dou Hua Mei was voted ahead of Yao Yao as the Goddess of their Hearts with 18,000 votes in her favour, winning by a margin of 2,000 votes. Dou Hua Mei has also replaced Yao Yao as the face of a new Taiwan online mahjong game due to last minute withdrawal by Yao Yao from the agreement.
Other than modelling for technology companies such as Dell, Dou Hua Mei will also be trying a stint with hosting before her first foray into the music industry with a single in the end of 2009. Looks like Yao Yao has some serious competitor! But the fortunately, both ladies belong to the same agent company and it could only mean good business for the company.
