Jack Neo (梁智强) is one of Singapore’s most commercially successful and famous film-maker. He was born in 24 January 1960 and his pursuit for success saw him in different stints as a radio DJ, actor, TV compere and most notably movie producer. He is most famous for his comic skits on TV where he acted as the cute Liang Po Po (梁婆婆).
Recently, news of Jack Neo’s two-year extramarital affair came to light when Jack Neo’s mistress/girlfriend Wendy Chong showed up at his Pasir Ris semi detached house and met his wife, the 46 years old Madam Irene Kng.
Jack Neo’s mistress/girlfriend is the 22 years old Wendy Chong (aka Zhong Jia Yan, 钟佳燕), who works as a freelance model. The local Singapore tabloids reported that Wendy Chong first met Jack Neo when she acted as a calefare nurse in his movie “Money No Enough 2″. She is also involved in the latest Jack Neo movie “Being Human” as the sister-in-law of the movie’s lead actor, Mark Lee.
What surprises the media and Wendy Chong was when Jack Neo’s wife Irene Kng reacted coolly when confronted, as she later told the media that she already knew about Jack Neo’s indiscretion but had chosen to “close one eye” about the issue since she knew that her husband still loves the family and her.
The three of them had proceeded to a restaurant at the Changi Airport’s Crowne Plaza Hotel after the confrontation at the couple’s marital home. The tabloid Lianhe Wanbao found out about the meeting and staked out the restaurant. The media reported that they witnessed the meeting negotiation which lasted for more than 4 hours.

Jack Neo has since apologised to his wife Irene Kng, who had also forgiven him.
To his credit, Jack Neo’s movies, especially Money No Enough and I Not Stupid are recognized for having touched an emotional chord among Singaporeans. Local issues from negligent parenting to to the infamous water disputes between Singapore and Malaysia were satirized in comical ways. In recognition of his achievements and contributions towards Singapore’s media industry, Film Director Jack Neo was awarded Lifetime Achievement Award in 1999. In 2004, he became the first local film-maker to be honored with a National Day Award, the Public Service Medal. On 21 October 2005, Jack Neo was presented Singapore’s Cultural Medallion, together with other talents like Dick Lee.

I think Jack being a lot older and experienced than the 22 year old girl, he should not take advantage of her immaturity. C’mon, let’s think and analyze the situation: when Jack was 48 years old, she was only 20. At the age of 20, the girl was potentially still rather naive. We should NEVER do anything to others that we do not wish others to do upon us. This is a simple truth that all must remember and practice. Imagine, what if Jack’s eldest daughter who is turning 20 next year appears in the front-page with a breaking news of having an affair with Jacky Chan? One thing for sure, Lin Fong Jiao will surely show the same amount of Tolerance and understanding as jack’s wife, if not more.
However, We should give Jack’s wife credit for handling the embarrassing situation so calmly and well. Jack himself too has also done the right thing by coming clean with his records after he knew he couldn’t hide his dirty laundry anymore.
Finally, I wish Wendy will let the matter rest and move on with her own life. After all, Jack is just a joker with a thinning hair problem. I am sure there are better and younger jokers out there who are single and available.

When Jack was a nobody (no fame and no money), I believe his wife had supported him in every way as a normal spouse does. Gradually he became rich and famous (not as famous as the Hollywood stars though) and did not reflect upon the goodness of his wife. He made a conscious decision to sleep with women whom he fancied (and I am glad that he owned up to it at the Press Conference) and for those who slept with him, I believe they are sluts. As for Wendy, she is no better than a whore. She thinks she is attractive (peel off the layer of thick make-up and we will know how she really looks like) and use it to her advantage. If Jack is a poor man, I do not think that she will want to waste time with him. So she was exchanging her body with the luxuries he could provide her. Is that not equivalent to a prostitute? So, to sum it all, they are both very promiscuous and are a big disgrace to Singapore! I do not pity Wendy when I heard the news (from her mother) that she (Wendy) might commit suicide. Singapore would be a better place if such a person disappear the faster the better. My advice for Jack is: Be grateful to your wife for her forgiveness (if I were to be married to Jack, he would have to suffer for his consequences) and do not take her kindness as weakness. If you stray the second time, it is better that you disappear from this earth. Do not be a stumbling block to the Christian community, if you think you are still a Christian!!!

Jack may have exploited his position as a film director to take advantage of young starlets – but I don’t think Irene Kng and children need to be roasted in public and be hounded by the tabloids.

The irony is hilarious. Irony in that he is the pre-eminent director to grown out of the creatively challenged society of Singapore to also be the best man to perpetual an age-old tabloid staple – affairs. I always find his overweening, morally upright films foisted as a Singapore homemade tour-de-force to be averaged anyway. I have been in the States for almost 4 years and seldom watch news from home and this little tabloid shows up. You guys back home made my day.
I don’t mind to take care of Jack’s wife and the four children. I think she is a responsible mother. She would make a good companion to grow old with. And yes, she IS VERY beautiful.
How did Jack Neo manage to harass so many young girls and not one single victim has ever reported to the police about his s@#ual har@ssment and in fact, most of them were willing to sleep with him once or more times?
Jack Neo is an interesting wolf, nay, werewolf in sheep’s clothing. He should not give an excuse by claiming that given such an opportunity, all men would commit adultery like him. Jack is unrepentant as he is trying to pin the blame on his victims.
Stop siding with Jack until he is really repentant, and not just acting.
Jack is in a position of power. That is grounds for harassment if you insinuate sexual favors.
Take the case of Fong, whether she deserves any roles or task becomes a question when she refuses his advancements. Did she not get the job because of rejecting Jack or because she does not qualify?
Jack is the one that put himself in this situation and yet he tries to brand those victims as fame seekers?
He has only himself to blame.
The other thing is being well connected can also be a negative side.
If he gets off too easy, people and the media will be seen as siding with a powerful connected person rather than the victims.
Sometimes being too connected can be a bad thing.
His victims may be at fault for being stupid or giving in to pressure from Jack, but the biggest culprit is still Jack himself.
Until he is truly remorseful and apologize to his victims (not attack them), I still think all this is an ‘act’ from Jack. You have to know, Jack is a good actor after all.
I think the whole of Singapore has been conned by Jack Neo, including his friends, staff (this I am not too sure), church, pastor and members. Otherwise, the pastor would not have gone to the hotel to defend him. This whole episode would never have seen the light of day if Wendy didn’t blow the whistle on him. Rightly or wrongly, Wendy has protected more future victims. Irene may have forgiven him easily and “sayang” him probably because she sees herself in Wendy (after all, she is the second wife). The many victims of Jack will never report on him because it brings shame upon them too. At 50, Jack realises with his decreasing libido, he cannot please any young chicks any more and thereby, wanted to end the relationship with Wendy after using her. Everyone here is a victim, Jack of his lust, Irene of security and Wendy of her naivety. Study his confession/news conference without the sound and you will see both couple acting (no tears despite the “crying”). They are protecting their own interests. Singapore should leave them alone to sort out their own troubles unless Jack still wants to play the innocent card. Then may God have mercy on him for using the church and His name to hide his sins.
